Land Court partitions

We represented a woman renting a part of her property to a family member. The family member had a ‘rent to own’ arrangement giving her a small equity interest and making her a co-owner. The relationship became so contentious she was forced to move and the family member became the proverbial ‘tenant from hell.” When the family member would not agree to a sale of the property, we filed a partition action for the client, which forced the sale. The family member ended up buying the property and our client got her money out.
